Mike is the co-founder of BSI. With over 30 years as a licensed plumber, Mike first began dealing with backflow and cross-connection control in the early 1980’s, and is a licensed backflow tester and founding member of the American Backflow Prevention Association (ABPA). Since then, Mike has co-authored State regulations pertaining to backflow, as well as countless ordinances for municipalities. Among the many organizations Mike is active in, he currently chairs the backflow committee for the IL section of the American Water Works Association (AWWA) and currently conducts educational seminars across the country – providing continuing education credits for municipal employees dedicated to learning more about backflow.
An avid wine aficionado, Mike loves the vast cultural activities in downtown Chicago. Mike has been married for over 35 years, is the father of two sons and the grandfather of four grandchildren.
Don is the co-founder of BSI. For over 40 years, Don has been a leader in the fire protection and backflow industries. He has been awarded a certificate as a National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET) Level IV in Fire Protection Engineering Technology/Water Based Systems. Don has worked diligently with organizations such as the National Fire Sprinkler Association where he served as chairman for seven consecutive terms within the Chicago chapter, currently serving on the National NFSA Suppliers and Manufactures Council (SAM), the Membership committee and the Seminar and Exhibition Committee. Don is most fond of the tranquility of the great outdoors, spending many a weekend in the Wisconsin Dells. Married for 34 years, Don is a father to both a son and daughter and also has a twin brother.
Brad is the Executive Vice President of BSI. He holds a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of South Florida. He also has a degree in Business Management from the University of Florida, and is University of Florida TREEO certified in both Cross-Connection Control Program Management and Surveys and Inspections. Brad has been with BSI over a decade, and currently oversees all day-to-day operations of the company.
Brad and his wife of 8 years have two daughters, and he remains an avid volleyball player and college sports fan (though his multiple alma maters often create conflicting loyalties!).
Doug is the National Director of Marketing for BSI. A graduate of Columbia College in IL, Doug currently facilitates all advertising and educational efforts for BSI across the country. Chances are at some point in time you will speak with Doug, as he spends his days meeting with municipalities and discovering ways to assist them with their cross-connection control programs.
A college soccer player, Doug continues to coach soccer for a local youth soccer club. Doug and his wife have 2 daughters.
Jody is the Director of Field Operations for BSI. He has a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Southern Mississippi. He is University of Florida TREEO certified in both Cross-Connection Control Program Management and Surveys and Inspections. Jody has over a decade of experience in cross-connection control operations management and is also a former water operator. During his tenure at BSI, Jody has initiated countless backflow programs – developing ordinances and coordinating thousands of inspections.
Jody, a veteran of the United States Army, is currently married with 4 children, and loves spending time outdoors hunting, fishing, and traveling to NASCAR races.
Christine Walsh | Vice President of Business Operations
Christine is the Vice President of Business Operations for BSI. She is certified in Backflow Program Management by the AWWA. She has been at BSI for over a decade at which she possesses phenomenal leadership attributes and oversees the BSI customer service staff. Her dedicated work in servicing our municipal customers is an integral reason for BSI’s tremendous success.
Christine and her husband have been married for over 15 years and have one daughter, who is active in sports, which Christine tries never to miss a game.
Katie Rager | Vice President of Business Development
Katie works with every department ensuring that all needs are met and the company is running as efficiently as possible. Katie is dedicated to both our employees and customers, and has been an integral part of BSI’s infrastructure. With over 15 years experience in the backflow industry she can handle it all. Katie is specialized in both human and capital resource management.
Katie spends her spare time with her two children and competing in co-ed softball leagues.
Beriah is a stickler for organization, structure, and efficiency and dedicated to provide our customers with the best online backflow experience. His background of Over 20 years’ in Information Architecture and Application Design have helped us deliver an exceptional experience for all of our stakeholders. When he isn’t behind a keyboard you can find him on a snowboard or in his vegetable garden.
Michelle has brought her knowledge and experience in business administration to BSI. She has used her experience, her creative marketing initiatives and commitment to BSI to assist in the growth of our business. Michelle holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Chicago’s own St. Xavier University.
In Michelle’s free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and rooting for her favorite team, the Indianapolis Colts.
